A hybrid track potentiometer features a high wiper contact resistance, therefore operational checks should be carried out only in the voltage divider mode. A Hybrid track potentiometer should be used only as a voltage divider, with a minimum wiper circuit impedance of 100 x track resistance or 0.5M (whichever is greater). Operation with wiper circuits of lower impedance will degrade the output smoothness and affect the linearity. For variable resistor applications, only a Penny & Giles wirewound potentiometer should be used. Penny+Giles SLS 220 linear displacement sensors have a 10mm or 20mm stroke range with spring loaded operation, a mounting flange to allow easy installation and are contained within a high strength Nylatron® housing which provides good chemical resistance and low weight. The internal potentiometer assembly is protected to IP66. Suited to OEM and process monitoring applications, this new sensor replaces Penny+Giles HLP 220 model. |

The JC6000 will be introduced with the long life Penny & Giles conductive plastic potentiometer technology, offering both proportional analogue outputs with low current directional switching (two outputs in both X and Y axes). The option to supply with alternative 1 Amp rated micro-switches on each half axis is also available. |
Operating from 12 to 28 V DC, the M-5000/220 provides non-contact measurement over a nominal target range of 100 mm to 1 m (4” to 40”). Outputs include a 0 to 20 mA or 4 to 20 ma DC analog current loop, two independent setpoint switches, and echo status by both an LED indicator and an Echo Status Output switch. The system parameters and outputs are fully user programmable via an RS-485 data link, thereby eliminating the sealing and tampering problems associated with an adjustment potentiometer or pushbuttons. Some additional programmable features include: analog output slope, sampling rate, averaging of multiple target distance measurements, loss-of-echo time-out, and setpoint hysteresis. |
